Event Forecasting

There will be a forecast service for individuals or groups. This may include road trips, outdoor barbecues, weddings, sports events, marine activities and construction work sensitive to weather. The latter could be done on a continual or as needed basis. Contact can be done by various means including email, text or phone. Costs of services have not been determined but may be affected by the detail needed and the impact and scale of the event.
The forecasts will be tailored to the time and exact location of the event. Any information given more than 10 days ahead would be mainly based on climatology. A forecast given well in advance within 10 days prior will be updated as needed.

Climate Summaries
Available in the future:
There will be climate summaries for various locations across the 48 states. This may have a number of applications but a couple of those would certainly include people who are considering traveling or relocating to a certain area.
The summaries will include a descriptive summary as well as tables, graphs and other formats to describe in detail the climate for a given location. This will emphasize temperatures, precipitation, snowfall, thunderstorm and severe weather events. It will give the probability of certain temperatures and other events on a given part of the month. Information may be possible even where the climate record is relatively short.
The first climate summary will be done for Richmond, VA which will be a model for other locations and will be available at no cost as an example of the service.
Subscriptions have not been determined but it is likely that users will have access to all the climate information available and that the cost will be incremented so that those who join at the beginning will pay a lower monthly or yearly set price than those who join later.
